Arc'teryx Assault 45 Review - Arc'teryx has made a name for itself as a high-quality, high-quality brand of outdoor performance clothing and equipment. They have a special strategy called Arc'teryx LEAF, which means: Armed Forces. Arc'teryx is an excellent polarizing brand. It has become a status symbol especially among the wealthy in mountainous areas, regardless of their mountaineering skills, and the same can be said for the RAVY line in tactical terrain. Due to the high price, and sometimes non-professional people who make the equipment just for appearance, some people come to associate the brand with people who have more money than talent. I don't have a strong opinion of Arc'teryx in this regard. My position on brands in general has nothing to do with who makes the brand and everything to do with the use of the device.
Since my time in the military has ended, raiding has decreased significantly in my life, but the use of raiding style bags remains the same. Whether I'm hunting, shooting game, having a day in the field, or stocking emergency supplies in my car, I have a medium bag, and usually a dedicated one. Did another. Most of my bags are clearly designed for hunting or tactical use, making them stand out anywhere but the field or range. Enter the Arc'teryx LEAF Assault Pack 45: a lightweight, durable, comfortable and logically organized pack. When I first looked at the AAP (Arc'teryx Assault Pack) I noticed the lack of PALS webbing. AAP's "tactics" didn't immediately impress me, which is a big plus. In fact, if I had the AAP "Wolf" color option, it wouldn't look like what is usually seen as tactical or hunting.

I took this bag on a business trip that went through many states and different airports. I never realized that AAP did anything other than interact with skiers and other such winter sports enthusiasts on their way to their snow vacations, and I'm so glad I did. at that time.
The AAP is made of 500d HT Cordura® in a plain vane. I'm sure most readers are familiar with Cordura® products and probably have many devices made of the fabric. It's durable, and in the 500d, it's a little lighter. The interior of the main pocket is lined on all sides with Vikro® for reasons that will be discussed later in the review.
As mentioned earlier, I have several packages in this volume category. I also have a number of large and small bags, but none are as versatile as the 40L - 50L bags. I find it's a good compromise: it's big enough that I can fit the essentials in plus a bunch of extras, but not so big that I'm tempted to overpack to get out too much. . If you want a more conservative route, Arc'teryx also has a 30L option.
The AAP weighs just over 4 pounds with all straps attached and falls right in the middle in terms of weight with the mid-range packs I currently have. It might be a little heavy if you plan to use the AAP as a backpack at least, but it's fine if you're going to use it within the scope of its intended use.

When I first saw the narrow shoulders and small waist, I thought that the AAP would be very uncomfortable, especially if worn for long periods of time with all kinds of luggage. After several trips to the area, deliberately wearing the pack almost all the time, shooting and moving, dressing and duffing, I found the AAP to be very comfortable. I was very impressed with the belt. The minimalist design of the hip pads, which Arc'teryx calls "hip pods", are rounded pieces of foam that look great and carry a good amount of weight.
My favorite feature about AAP has to do with organization. It has a small zippered top pocket with a holding lanyard that I use for my keys, one main pocket and 2 side pockets that can hold a 3L water bladder. None of these features are particularly impressive or unique; It's the large pocket that sets the AAP apart from other bags I own.
The two large pouches allow access to all areas of the main compartment, and can, when fully opened, fully reveal the contents of the main pocket from all sides. . This concept would be a disaster if it weren't for the addition of Velcro® to almost every square inch of the interior of the great room, and no, it's not meant for patching your walls. Velcro® allows you to fasten any number of Velcro®-decorated pockets, in almost any size and shape you want, inside the main compartment, keeping your gear clean and organized, while at the same time making it easy the entrance.
I'm sure many readers have the experience of trying to find a small item and having to throw out your entire bag to find it, then put it back. This is especially annoying and during dangerous days or sometimes when speed is needed.

The MSRP for the Arc'teryx Leaf Assault Pack is $499.00. That's quite a bit of change for a non-press fed device. I feel, for my needs though, it's worth it, since I'm buying one for myself with my hard earned money.
If you are after an extensive bag that is a strong 10 in the categories of fit, comfort, function and organization, I recommend considering the Arctic Leaf Assault Pack. It can be a good choice for a day package, getting a bag at home, carrying, and of course, an attack.

After researching the pack that would work best for me, I was tempted by the Arcatrix Leaf Assault Pack. I saw the attack 45 and knew right away that it would fill every need. The customization possibilities of this kit are endless! The only downside is that I had to completely rethink how I organized my EDC.

The rest of the bag consists of two components with mesh pockets for the sides. I use it for power banks, lights, cables for chargers etc. I also have a large mesh bag in which I carry my lunch.
Underneath my IFAK is a pocket that holds my water bottle. I also carry an LBX Grab'n'Go bag for all papers at meetings. The pocket on the outside of the bag holds the belt system of the bag on one side and a shimug and towel on the other.
I also replace the original zippers by replacing them with sweater zippers from PSIGEAR (Thanks to Hexatic for giving me them too!).
